What’s a great add-on to an Oregon Coast and Redwoods elopement, complete with kayak experience? Meeting up with my two brides the night before to catch the opening of Thor: Love and Thunder.

Jess, Chels, and I are big Marvel fans and when their elopement date coincided with the opening weekend for the latest Thor flick, we had to take advantage!

Day 1

After their first look and reading letters from their loved ones, we spent the day exploring the Redwoods, culminating with sunset on the Oregon Coast at a favorite unmarked overlook of mine. The sunset was stunning, and our luck got even better when I spotted a gray whale out on the horizon. We watched the resident whale for a while, before enjoying the last rays of the day.

Day 2

This day started off early, meeting Marcus with South Coast Tours at Secret Beach (more info on eloping at Secret Beach here), and put into kayak around the surrounding sea stacks and sea arches. We managed to kayak through 11+ arches!

Pro Tip for Kayaking at your Elopement

South Coast Tours runs kayaking and paddling tours in the Arches territory through September, before the seas and weather gets too rough. If you’re wanting to incorporate a kayak experience, plan for your elopement to happen May-September!
