August Cannon Beach Proposal
Cannon Beach can be crowded in August, but if you can stand to explore down the beach and choose a weekday, you can escape the crowds into your own private proposal moment.
Sam reached out to me one week before he was set to propose to Julia on Cannon Beach.
One week. That isn’t a lot of time, especially if you’re open to locations and want to make sure there aren’t crowds around. I usually advise folks to reach out at least a month in advance, but Sam was open to my top suggestion, I happened to have a gap in elopements and we pulled everything together quickly!

While Julia knew a proposal was likely happening sometime (she had an idea as soon as Sam presented her with plane tickets to Oregon — one of her bucket list trips), she had no idea when, so I brought my dog as a partial decoy.
With the proposal just before golden hour, we spent the last beautiful rays of sun running through the water, splashing around, and enjoying the views from the nearby sand dunes.
Haystack Rock was present in the distance. It’s such a quintessential image of and Oregon Coast trip that we couldn’t leave it entirely out of the day!
