If you’re looking for a location with views, waterfalls, lush greenery, and epic vibes, but don’t want the overwhelming amount of people like Yosemite, the northern part of the Oregon Coast, etc., then the mountains of Oregon (and particularly mid to southern Oregon) might call to you. Hope and RJ eloped on the Oregon Coast and we’ve been the best of friends ever since! They came out and we put together an elopement vow renewal adventure to showcase hidden gems in Southern Oregon. Rachel and I (Sam) had the best time hanging out with them all day, exploring back roads!

Within a couple of hours of Crater Lake, you can find:

• Lava flows
• Waterfalls
• Mountain views
• Wildflowers
• Desert
• Lakes

These locations vary in difficulty for access, but most are a mile or less, one way! Don’t be surprised if you don’t see another soul at some of these locations – which is a HUGE positive for myself and many elopement couples! And on top of that, towns with amazing vendors are relatively close by. For instance, makeup and hair for Hope was done by Meaghan of Fleurt Beauty Company, and florals were by Barb’s Floral Design. Both are based in Roseburg, but Meaghan is available for travel all over the west coast and specializes in elopements.

We started getting ready in our trailer, then headed to a waterfall, with a break at one of my favorite local diners, followed by sunset at one of my favorite mountain lake overlooks! Check it out below:
