Glacier National Park Paddleboarding Elopement
Shan and Keith chose to elope in Glacier National Park with a multi-day Glacier National Park paddleboarding elopement experience.
“On our big day we want to be in an environment where we feel most connected and drawn to each other. We love the outdoors and based on our past adventures our connection has felt the most meaningful when we’ve been out exploring together in wild and beautiful places…. We love running, kayaking/paddleboarding, camping, working together in the kitchen to create unique meals. We like long road-trips listening to music and hanging out together in the car.“
As soon as I saw they loved paddleboarding, I floated the idea of a Glacier National Park paddleboarding elopement by them. They were 100% game.
With all that in mind, we of course started with an adventure session to one of my favorite overlooks in the entire park. It’s impossible to not feel in awe of and connected to the world with that type of view, amirite?
With the sun setting between two peaks, Shan and Keith cozied up (this spot is known for its wind) and cracked some jokes. By the end of the evening we were all laughing, particularly at when Keith whinnied like a horse in Shan’s ear to get her to laugh!
Two days later, we were all up at sunrise with a few of Shan and Keith’s loved ones to hike to a lake in Glacier National Park for sunrise portraits before their ceremony at Lake McDonald.
After their ceremony, we briefly snapped some group photos – Shan and her friends are runners (as well as Keith!) and we had to get in a few fun “starting line” shots.
After a quick lunch, we grabbed our gear and hit the lake for the piece de resistance of this Glacier National Park paddleboarding elopement!
Paddleboarding at Glacier National Park is one of my favorite activities, because you can see all the colorful rocks at the bottom of the lake (that is, if you’re close-ish to shore!). You’re also able to see old dock ruins and plant life. It’s truly an amazing experience and I’m so glad Shan and Keith got to witness it.
