Redwoods & Coast Elopement with “New Girl” Actor Cameo

If two people are massive (and I mean massive) fans of the TV show “New Girl”, then it makes sense to include that in your day right? It’s why Nelson Franklin (who plays the character Robbie on “New Girl”) made a cameo shortly after their first look.

And that was just the start of the day.

Scroll down to see towering trees, a beautiful golden sunset, and a floral wedding dress that will be the envy of any gown-wearer.

Why did Mary and Brandon feel like eloping was right for them?

And boy was their fairytale one to remember.

First Look & Details

I had a video from Nelson Franklin (Robbie on “New Girl”) for them up my sleeve and couldn’t wait until their first look.

After Brandon gaped, wide-eyed at his bride, they cuddled close against the typical temperate August wind on the Oregon Coast and watched as Nelson Franklin wished them the best, gave insights into his own marriage, and also wished that M&B’s dog, Willow, could have been there.

Jedediah Smith State Park

To kick off their adventure, both were so stoked to head south from their lodgings in Gold Beach, toward Jedediah Smith Redwoods State Park for portraits and hiking along the Smith River.

Like every Redwoods visitor, Mary and Brandon’s necks got their workout from constantly craning up toward the canopy of the forest’s guardians. In the mid-late afternoon, sunlight trickles in specks from the canopy to the forest floor. M&B found a few windows of sunlight to bask in, eyes closed.

Ceremony on the Oregon Coast

As the sun crept closer to the horizon, and after a stop at a local 50’s diner, we headed back north for a beach romp on the Oregon Coast, just north of Samuel H. Boardman Scenic Corridor.

Mary in particular envisioned massive sea stacks, water breaking against them, and a sandy beach for their ceremony. Cannon Beach isn’t the only Oregon beach that has massive sea stacks! There are various places along the coast – and they’re a lot less crowded!

Their final moments of the day were filled with reading personal vows to each other, soaking in the last rays of the golden sun, and then playing pretend with lanterns as the last light of day disappeared.

Scroll down for vows, sunsets, and lanterns!
