Elopement Jumping Into Lake McDonald at Glacier National Park
What a way to end your elopement – Jumping into Lake McDonald at Glacier National Park.
Lauren and Pete live in SoCal and were in love with the epic views of the Rocky Mountains and Glacier National Park. Lauren (Lu) sported an epic mohawk that was bright orange (a color that radiated through their entire day, from her cape to her corsage in replace of a boutonniere.
Their reasons for eloping?
“Coronavirus was the final push to get rid of the stress of a large wedding with the excuse that we didn’t want Covid as a wedding gift. The burden of a 20k wedding that could be better spent on an adventure into our lives together instead of stressing over talking to every single attendee became all too easy to ditch out on. It didn’t feel right, and could tell we were both getting uncomfortable trying to make it traditional. We both love camping, and taking our dogs to the beach or on walks.“
So Glacier National Park made sense.
Even COVID-19 couldn’t keep these two from a stunning alpenglow sunrise on the east side of Logan Pass before we ventured down Going to the Sun Road. The wind is notorious at their sunrise first look and portrait location and the beads on Lu’s dress were ripped off and kept hitting Brian and I like BB pellets. By the end, even though we were cold, we were laughing at the sheer hilarity and craziness of it all! We ended their 7-8 hour day with a brunch on the lakeshore before jumping into Lake McDonald.
