Crater Lake & Canoeing Elopement
Two of the sweetest people I’ve ever met came from Seattle for their epic Crater Lake elopement, complete with a stop at a nearby lake to go canoeing!
These two got engaged at Crater Lake a decade ago and haven’t been back since. On top of exploring the lake via boat, they had their Crater Lake ceremony with Wizard Island in the background. Cindy & Jay decided to have a private ceremony with just the two of them, but their three kids wrote them notes and drew them photos for their ceremony. If you’re looking for a way to include your kids, but still have some private time, I highly recommend!
Before visiting Crater Lake, we stopped by a nearby lake to do some canoeing, and let me tell you – it’s a hilarious and fun way to spend part of your day! We spent time putzing around the lake and stopped to take in the views of Mt. Thielsen in the background (also known as the Lightning Rod of the Cascades).
Cindy’s makeup, hair, and florals were all done by Janice Moon Artistry, and afterward, we all had a few cookie sandwich treats from Sweet Stuff out of Medford.
Cindy and Jay are inspiring and have eloped their lives in multiple ways! One of the most amazing examples is Cindy overcoming her anxiety of speaking in public. She is now a planned conference speaker regarding aspects of her pharmacist career. I couldn’t be more honored to know these two.
We ended the evening with Scotch Whisky shots from a special bottle they purchased.
Here’s what Cindy and Jay had to say about their Crater Lake elopement:
“Huge shout out to Sam for making our elopement day PERFECT! Prior to the big day, she referred me (Cindy) to hair and makeup artists, vendors for florals, and answered all my silly questions for how to prepare. On our big day, she whipped out a mini tent from her car so I could change into my wedding dress. Then my honey and I went for a canoe ride while Sam followed us in a motorboat shooting awesome photos. Then she showed us the best that Crater Lake had to offer. We couldn’t have asked for more. We loved that our elopement experience was just for us. There was no one to please (except ourselves), and no one was around to judge.
On the topic of “Elope Your Life” – I have had a lot of time to think about the concept. I tend to not make a ton of decisions on my own. But since deciding to elope and knowing Sam, I’ve been more inclined to do what I want, knowing that I don’t really need anyone’s permission. In general, Elope Your Life has instilled more confidence in me and my abilities.
The cherry on top of this whole elopement experience is that we’ve gained a friend. Sam is da bomb!“
