Shore Acres Oregon Coast Elopement
Winter on the Oregon Coast is always tricky. But luckily my elopement couples embrace whatever weather comes their way. Luckily this day ALSO happened to be pretty awesome when it came to weather at this Shore Acres Oregon Coast Elopement.
Sasha & Mario booked me for a couple short & sweet hours to cover their elopement (where I did the officiating). Through a series of unfortunate events, we got started an hour late – but that didn’t stop us from having an awesome time on this particular stretch of beach, accessible via Shore Acres State Park. Why did they decide to elope? Sasha and Mario explain,
“We’ve lived in 3 different cities in the last 5 years and have family in South Korea and Bulgaria. Far too much coordination required to get everyone together and after 10 years together… there was no question we were going to marry each other among our friends and family. And in this economy, we figured it’s better to spend the money on a great dinner/announcement party and honeymoon than a crazy wedding ;-)”
They chose Simpson Beach because of a road trip along the Oregon Coast. They loved the botanical gardens, but since the holiday lights were going on, the botanical gardens were off limits for a ceremony. I’m incredibly familiar with the area, so I suggested an adjacent beach that gets little traffic but is incredibly stunning (followed by a couple phone calls to the state park permit coordinator to confirm a couple things – thanks Janet!). As rock formations formed by wind and water stood witness, Sasha and Mario said their “I Do”s on an unusually mild November day.
