Oregon Coast Elopement Portraits
The Oregon Coast provides so many couples with a truly unique and vast destination for their elopement day in spite of its remoteness for amenities, or maybe because of it, due to the relative lack of crowds! S & O come from the East Coast where they do amazing humanitarian and social rights work. Originally they planned a celebration in March of 2020. If any of us recall anything from March of 2020, it’s the start of the darkest season for so many of us. The pandemic hit, and their celebration was called off in an abundance of caution at an unpredictable time. Like many couples, this was a devastating decision to make.
They were originally planning to elope on the Northern Oregon coast, but we settled on the Southern Oregon Coast that felt like a better fit for them. They had seen some beautiful photos of the area that they loved, and they felt inspired to choose that destination.
They stayed right in the little coastal town of Brookings, OR (and if you’ve been around awhile, you know this is where I spend what seems like half my summers!) where they explored a couple of lesser-visited locations along Samuel H. Boardman State Scenic Corridor and just north of there. This allows me to really get creative with their images using backdrops that were lesser-known (but no less Insta-worthy). It’s really cool too because when couples choose these types of locations, it inspires others to choose more unique locations as well. I always love getting to use new locations!
O was dressed in loose-fitting, ivory trousers and a beautiful silk button-up. S was dressed in this adorable knee-length dress with long puffy tulle sleeves. Her aunt is a very accomplished dress designer who crafted the dress for her based on a couple of dress inspiration pieces, and they had their hair and makeup done by Andrea Beck of Grants Pass (andreas_makeup@yahoo.com). They both looked SO fire.
They had a beautiful Oregon Coast celebration, and sort of re-proposed to each other (can you say ADORABLE?!) We ended the adventure with a beautiful golden sunset. Two brides, in white on the Oregon Coast. What could be better?
