Two Medicine Glacier National Park Elopement with Waterfall & Boat Ride
Alex proposed to Porshai at the top of Mt. Fuji in Japan. When it came to picking their elopement location, it seemed fitting that a year later, they’d be standing among mountains again.
These two are goofy, fun, and thoughtful. Thoughtful of their elopement day, thoughtful of each other, and intentional about what this adventure meant to them.
It’s why Porshai schemed with me to set up a surprise at the end of their day: coming back to their Airbnb where their parents were secretly waiting, having made the trip out to Glacier. It was the ultimate kind act of giving A&P their privacy before joining them for a nightcap, rounding off a kickass day.
“We have been together since junior high and never really imagined doing anything else but eloping.“

Getting Ready & First Look in East Glacier Village
Porshai and Alex really value a good perfume and/or cologne. It’s a priority that made including a special scent for each of them in their detail images a no-brainer. Porshai came armed with special perfumes and a host of other gems, including postcards, their vow books, stamps, and a special bouquet charm in memory of their late dog, Honeybee. Honeybee made life incredibly special for these two over the 5 years since they rescued her from the shelter. It’s important pieces of your life like those that should be included in one of the most pivotal points in your life.
Another detail: a book with notes to the bride. Having guests at your intimate wedding or elopement can be more stressful than folks realize, but there are tons of ways to include people in spirit. This provided Porshai and her one guest, Ashlea, a moment in time to sit, look back, and feel love from so many people miles away.
Ceremony at a Glacier National Park Waterfall
We made the relatively last-minute decision to move the ceremony from just outside the park, to inside the park (within reason, of course; permits are still due a month out). We crossed our fingers, and got lucky that Running Eagle Falls had availability. These falls have an empowering woman-led story behind them, which felt parallel to Porshai recently graduating with her Master’s in Social Work. You heard it here first, the woman is smart, gorgeous, and kind. No wonder Alex snatched her up.
Their ceremony was on a Saturday and unfortunately, that meant crowds of people at this easily accessible waterfall. Folks were kind enough to move out of the background for their relatively short ceremony and few portraits afterward. Even though the temperature wasn’t more than low 70s, the sun was warming us quickly. Porshai and Alex, as one, as if they had a mind meld moment, announced they were ready for shade and the breeze of the lake.
So off we went…
Glacier National Park Elopement with Boats
If there’s one thing these two are down for, it’s adventure. After being snookered earlier in the morning with their plans to do a cold plunge at a waterfall on their Airbnb property, we were anxiously awaiting Porshai and Alex’s boat adventure.
Elopement Portraits at Two Medicine
A quick hike was in store for the remaining time we had in Two Medicine. From the viewpoint along the lake, we watched for a rain squall glide over the mountains and guessed on how much time we had left before embracing the rain. Aside from a few errant raindrops, we remained dry for the time being, while it started hitting Porshai and Alex that they did it.
Married.
Elopement Portraits at GNP Sign & Surprise
It felt like the perfect ending to our time in the park: a quick stop at the Glacier National Park entrance sign, a small sunny sprinkle making magic, and these two driving out of the park with their Just Married sign attached to the Tacoma.
Be sure to catch the expressions on everyone’s faces when they came in the Airbnb to their loved ones and a charcuterie spread fit for the celebration the day was.
