What do you get when you put the love of the Adirondack Mountains, snuggling next to a cozy fire while knitting, and fall colors? You get Rochelle & Kyle’s epic Adirondacks elopement just outside of Lake Placid, New York.
We woke up at… whew, I can’t remember, but I know it was just the early side of 4am, to hike up a mountain for sunrise. Being from the Pacific Northwest, I got to experience what Rochelle calls “Adirondack hiking”. Why is that different? Well, the PNW is known for dirt trails, and switchbacks. Adirondacks are host to boulder hops and apparently don’t know what switchbacks are. This Adirondacks elopement was one to remember.
We spent the whole hike up laughing about the incline, talking about knitting, the mountains, trail differences, and their hike through Fangorn Forest (yep, there is a Fangorn Forest sign in the Adirondacks).
The day before I had hiked the same mountain and then took a plane ride around it, with all the technicolors providing the best backdrop. Then several weeks after their big day, we discovered their elopement location is a featured screensaver for Vizio televisions. How cool.
Check out their amazing elopement day:
